On October 24, 2004, there will be a fund raiser for Finis' grandchildren. Their mother was killed on January 19th, 2004.

The benefit will take place at the Hollywood Park Casino Park which is the race track on Century Blvd in Inglewood, California.

There will be lots of blues, R&B and Doo Wop music. The event will start at 3:00 pm on Sunday and go on until closing time.

We are asking for a $25.00 donation to cover the cost of renting the venue and to raise money for the five grandchildren. We hope that you will come and support this event. If you cannot attend the show but wish to make a donation, please send it:

Electro-Fi Prez Andrew Galloway is more than delighted to announce the signing of a world class blues artist to the label. FINIS TASBY is a name that means a lot to connoisseurs of the very best in Blues vocals. Born in Dallas, Texas, Finis played bass with Freddy King before moving to California in 1973 where he recorded several standout records under his own name including ÒGet Drunk and Be SomebodyÓ. He worked with Jimmy McCracklin and his long time friendship with John Lee Hooker led to ongoing appearances at the Boom Boom Room. Finis provided vocals on several tracks of guitar sensation ENRICO CRIVELLAROÕS Electro-Fi CD ÒKey To My KingdomÓ which many critics hailed as the best debut disc of 2003. (Enrico and Finis also perform live together, they recently completed a highly successful month long tour of Australia). Now, Enrico has returned the favor, playing outstanding guitar on and co-producing FinisÕ Electro-Fi debut with Andrew Galloway at Alec FraserÕs Liquid studio in Toronto during the first week of August. Joining Finis and Enrico in the studio was DAVID ROTUNDO, perhaps the most exciting young harp player on the blues scene today and W.C. Handy award winner MEL BROWN. ÒFinis brought along a great variety of first rate original material, then proceeded to sing his heart out. The players, Enrico, David, Mel, Julian Fauth, Jimmy Boudreau, Shane Scott and Alec Fraser laid down some incredibly deep grooves that have to be heard to be believed. Three days of big fun and a lot of hard work make this one of the best discs we have ever recordedÓ Galloway reports. Watch for a Spring 2005 release date.

August 2004

Finis has just finished recording his first album with Electro-Fi Records. The album is scheduled to be released in the early part of 2005. This album features Enrico Crivellaro with special guests Mel Brown, David Rotundo and Julian Fauth. Finis penned a number of original songs for this CD as well as covering tunes by Percy Mayfield, Lowell Fulson and Little Walter.

Finis will be appearing at the San Francisco Blues Festival in September.
